Germicidal Action

The lamp uses 254 nm UV-C light to destroy the DNA or RNA of microorganisms, helping to kill them or prevent them from reproducing.

 

Applications

Suitable for air and surface disinfection.

  • Recommended operating time: At least 30 minutes
  • Recommended distance for surface disinfection: Approx. 1 metre
  • Effective against microorganisms including:
    • Escherichia coli
    • Staphylococcus aureus
    • Staphylococcus albus

 

Safety & Maintenance:

  1. Installation
    Use the correct matching ballast. Installation and wiring should be carried out by a qualified professional.
  2. Safety First
    UV-C radiation can cause skin and eye damage. Never look directly at the lamp while it is operating. Ensure the UV cabinet is fully closed before switching on the lamp. Switch off the lamp before opening the cabinet.
  3. Protect Plants and Materials
    Prolonged UV-C exposure may damage plants and cause discoloration or damage to certain materials. Avoid direct exposure to plants, valuable items, clothing, jewellery, paintings, and other sensitive materials.
  4. Cleaning
    Keep the lamp clean for effective operation. Clean approximately every 2 weeks when the lamp is switched off. Use a soft, clean cloth lightly dampened with alcohol to remove dust and oil.
  5. Replacement & Disposal
    Replace the lamp when it reaches the end of its service life. Use a suitable Philips UV-C germicidal lamp and follow proper disposal requirements for used lamps.

Important: UV-C lamps should only be operated in a properly enclosed or unoccupied area. Ensure the lamp is completely switched off before opening the cabinet.
